CAMP HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea – Leaders throughout 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade attended a friendship dinner with the Pyeongtaek Leadership Committee Morning Calm Conference Center Jan. 3.
대한민국 캠프 험프리스 – 제2전투항공여단 주요 지휘관들은 1월 3일 평택 지도자회가 모닝 캄 회의장에서 진행된 우호 만찬에 참석하였다.
The New Year Friendship Dinner presented local civic, business leaders and 2CAB Soldiers with an opportunity to foster new friendships and strengthen the Republic of Korea-U.S. Alliance.
신년 우호 만찬은 지역사회 민간 및 사업체장들과 항공여단 장병들에게 새로운 우호관계를 증진시키고 한미 공조를 강화하는 기회를 제공했다.
“The best part of the evening was seeing the fellowship between the Soldiers of 2CAB and the representatives from the community of Pyeongtaek,” said Sgt. Maj. Tyrone Murphy, Maysville, North Carolina native, operations sergeant major, 2CAB.
노스 캐롤라이나 출신이며 2항공여단 작전 주임원사인 타이론 머피 주임원사는 “행사의 최고의 순간은 평택시 지역사회 지도자들과 2항공여단 장병들간의 유대관계를 지켜보는 것이었습니다.” 고 말했다.
Murphy was not the only one to embrace the spirit of partnership and appreciation for what the support PLC provides to Soldiers stationed at Camp Humphreys.
머피 주임원사만이 동반자적 관계 정신과 평택 지도자회가 캠프 험프리스에 주둔하고 있는 장병들에게 마련해준 지원에 대한 감사를 표한 것은 아니었다.
“We are here to help build a good relationship with the community,” said 1st Sgt. Caprina Rivers, Orlando, Florida native, senior enlisted advisor, Company B, 4th Aerial Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2CAB. “We should be stewards of our profession and…help the community as much as possible. We are here for each other.”
플로리다 올랜도 출신이며 2항공여단 제4-2정찰항공대대 B중대 선임 부사관 고문인 카프리나 리버스 주임상사는 “우리는 지역사회와 좋은 관계를 형성하는데 도움을 주기 위해 이곳에 참석하게 되었습니다,” 며 “우리는 우리들 직업의 승무원이 되어야 하며 가능한 지역사회를 도와야 합니다. 우리는 서로를 위해 이곳에 있습니다.” 고 말했다.
The social gathering was a first for many of the Warriors who participated.
친목 모임은 사단 참석자 대부분에게 최초의 행사였다.
“This was my first time attending a friendship dinner,” said Lt. Col. Jonathan Easley, commander, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, and Laguna Beach, California native. “I enjoyed the evening, especially learning how to communicate with my Korean counterparts at the table.”
캘리포니아 라구나 비치 출신이며 제602항공지원대대 대대장인 죠나단 이슬리 중령은 “이번이 저의 첫번째 우호 만찬 참석입니다,” 며 “저는 오늘 행사가 아주 즐거웠고 특히 같은 테이블에서 한국 관계자들과 함께 소통하는 법을 배우게 되어 즐겁습니다.” 고 말했다.” 고 말했다.
After dinner, Col. Brian Watkins, commander, 2CAB, and Seattle, Washington native, stood at the podium and graciously thanked PLC for their interest and investment into the military community.
만찬 후, 워싱턴 주 시애틀 출신이며 2항공여단 여단장인 브라이언 왓킨스 대령은 연단에 서서 평택 지도자회에게 군에 보내준 관심과 투자에 감사를 표현하였다.
“Pyeongtaek Leadership Committee does a heck of a lot for our Soldiers,” said Watkins. “They are very gracious and are happy to have us here. Thank you, PLC, for everything you do. You are…a part of the family here as much as the Talon Brigade is part of the Pyeongtaek community.”
왓킨스 대령은 “평택 지도자회는 우리 장병들에게 많은 것을 해주고 있습니다,” 며 “우리가 이곳에 있는 것에 자애로우며 행복해 하고 있습니다. 평택 지도자회 여러분 여러분들이 그간 보내주신 성원에 감사합니다. 여러분들은 독수리 발톱 여단이 평탱 지역사회의 일부가 되는 것만큼 이곳에서 가족의 일부와 같습니다.” 고 말했다.
The night ended with Mr. Yim, Chong K.(Tiger), a 2CAB logistician, and Watkins raffling local treats to attendees. The PLC and 2CAB will continue to work together while building upon the Republic of Korea and U.S partnership.
행사는 2항공여단 보급관인 종 K. (타이거) 임씨와 왓킨스 대령이 참석자들에게 지역 선물을 추첨하는 것으로 종료되었다. 평택 지도자회와 2항공여단은 대한민국과 미국의 동반자적 관계를 형성하며 앞으로 지속적으로 함께 일할 것이다.
